Edmonton Tourism wins at CMA Awards
Edmonton Tourism, in partnership with DDB Canada and Tribal Worldwide, took home bronze for their website ExploreEdmonton.com in the category of digital, consumer services. Edmonton Tourism’s website was a finalist alongside major national brands WestJet Airlines and Yellow Pages. The awards were handed out on December 5 at the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) Awards Gala in Toronto, the largest marketing awards event in the country.
Launched in April 2014, ExploreEdmonton.com was designed to show the originality of the visitor experience in Edmonton using exhilarating visuals, highlight authentic experiences, and feature stories to move potential visitors through the path to purchase and inspire extended stays.
Edmonton Tourism’s website and the consumer brand, Edmonton Original Since Way Back, are inspired by Edmonton’s grassroots culture, down-to-earth people, and the city itself: a vibrant urban centre in the heart of the wilderness.
At the Travel Alberta Industry Conference in October 2014, Edmonton Tourism was recognized with two Alto awards: Excellence in Marketing over $50K for Edmonton Tourism's cheeky "Winter in Edmonton" campaign, and the Marketing Partnership Award for Edmonton International Airport's collaboration with Icelandair and Edmonton Tourism for the “Icelandmania” campaign. The Alto Awards recognize individuals and organizations committed to enriching Alberta’s tourism industry and who by their actions inspire others and demonstrate what can be achieved by working together.
Edmonton Tourism’s website has also been recognized by Communication Arts as webpick of the week, and by Applied Arts magazine as the 2014 interactive media award winner in the category of entertainment, arts and tourism
